Today I received a phone call from Robin Graves, Director of Admissions and Enrollment Services at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. She called to let me know that they had received my updated OAT scores and were impressed with the amount of improvement from the previous scores (it really helps having the course work that you are tested over). Her primary reason for calling was to give me the chance to secure an early interview -- this Friday. I jumped at it and will be interviewing Friday.
This is a good thing on many fronts.
1. She called me... and will later be sending the formal invitation for interview by mail (as usually happens).
2. I was called by her... not her secretary (as usually happens).
3. Acceptance and scholarships are awarded beginning with the first set of interviews, held each Friday beginning in October and running until the end of April.
4. The first day of interviews was two weeks ago (I interview on the 3rd day of interviews).
Now I have to figure out what to wear. Danny booked the hotel. We leave Thursday evening. Remember me about 12:30 Central (1:30 Eastern). Wish me luck!

No matter what happens, you have to eat at Uncle Lou's Fried Chicken and Stuff. It's awesome. But I would highly recommend waiting until after the interview.
